(please delete when you can, thanks) I did wish to write something about this piece, tho - it's amazing! and to think it was all computer generated is stunning. Keep up your awesome work. Not sure what the etiquette is, so I hope you don't mind if I respond in one posting. Thanks all for your comments on the texture. This is the hardest thing for me to achieve on the computer screen. The texture was created by mixing a close up photo of tree bark - with its roughness and mix of deep shadow and highlight. It seemed to work pretty well. I truly appreciate all your constructive and encouraging remarks!
